I want to thank everyone who came to the Tinsel and Treasures Show last weekend

Thanks to Iva Wilcox for putting together such a fantastic group of artists.
It was an honor to be among them!

Here's a sneak-peak at the notepads I will be selling at Tinsel and Treasures, along with
my glass hinged lid boxes, scrunched and flat ribbons as well as some hand-dyed
and stamped ribbons.

Monday, August 6, 2012

I plan to have a lot of seam binding in the fall colors at the Tinsel and Treasures show.
The pale butter yellow is a vintage one that I just acquired ...love it!  The off-white and pale
grey are also vintage that only when you get them next to the new ones can you see the difference.

Glass hinged lid box

With a little time to play last weekend, I decided to cover a cigar box that I had long ago
had a piece of glass cut to make a hinged lid.  I covered the box with Midori paper
that I now sell at the shop along with the black/cream wired striped ribbon.

Bridal Shower

This past Sunday, my daughter and I hosted a bridal shower for her BFF.  It was a wonderful
day!  These are the favors I made and filled with a light and dark See's chocolate butter cream...yum

I also made the coffee filter heart and draped the names of the bride and groom using silver
glittered letters across the heart.  Then I  tucked a pair of love birds in the bottom of the heart.
The bride to be was so thrilled she asked me to mail it New York so she can include include it
in her wedding decorations.

Pansies and Fuchsias Class with Candace Kling

It was a wonder Sat. with Candace Kling teaching a group of women who love ribbon and the
art of making flowers.  I can't say enough wonderful things about Candace and her incredible
tallent and ability to teach her techniques of making ribbons look like flowers.
Here are the fuchsias and the pansy I finished.  I wish I had taken pictures of everyone's boards
but I knew there would be someone in the group who is much better than me with a camera.

Connie Fong was one of the wonderful ladies who attend the class and please check out her
blog. for more pictures at artfulplay.blogspot.com
And for more information about Candace check her website at: candacekling.com
